InnoSummer 2010: Lady GaGa calling

Project in a nutshell

The application developed during this project was called Megaphone. The aim of the project was to provide multicast calling service to users based on VoIP i.e. the ability to reach out multiple users with just one call. As a bonus feature users can also make traditional one-to-one video calls.

The application provides ways to create and manage groups, profile management, privacy settings and schedule calls for the members of a group.

What did we learn?

The project was a very good learning process as we got hands on experience on Qt programming, integrating web application within Qt to provide a real time experience to user, VoIP servers, study of protocols such as SIP/RTP, TCP/IP and how they can be used in conjunction with each other to develop different user services.
