Saving energy with high-end technology

The goal of the project is to visualize accurate energy consumption data and develop new energy saving services for an exsisting platform of Gurux. The necessary technology is provided by project partners. The equipment will be installed in one or more public buildings in Tampere and the team will work with the building maintaners as well as Gurux representative to develop the system. The team will be able to implement their ideas in one well known public building itself. The visualisation could be web based so it could be accessed anywhere. The results of the project can be used to help city of Tampere save more energy in public buildings.

Background

Saving energy and using it more efficiently are the most sensible, efficient and cost-effective ways to reduce emissions and the environmental impact of the energy system. A significant part of energy consumption is due to residence and buildings. The city of Tampere is looking for new tools to measure and reduce the energy consuption of its public buildings. In order to save electricity it is important to know excactly where it is consumed. By visualizing the consumpiton in an effective and inspiring way to building maintaners and citizens, Tampere City can show a good example to everyone.
