InnoSummer project 6/2011: WellViz

Consumer-focused eHealth initiatives and the world of related services to be full of vertical, single-purpose applications and services around well-being and treating various diagnoses, or just generically monitoring your own exercise levels. What doesn't exist yet is a great well-being Web Service which is able to add value from multi-modal data synthesis and the artificial intelligence and social interactivity generated around this synthesis.

Project Goal

Design and implement a multi-modal data analysis engine which clusters, correlates and picks up anomalies from physical activity, biometric or location based data channels flowing into a state-of-the-art non-SQL data store. Graphical library functions for Web and smartphones which will enable smart and device-optimized visual presentations of the context-sensitive data.

Interaction between stakeholder and project team

The work will be executed at the Demola 'office' in Tampere, Finlayson. The company partner incubates in the same New Factory premises, and can provide day-to-day project assistance and guidance.

Support (supervision & financial)

Demola staff will supervise the reports and they'll be allowed to join the partner company's weekly status report meetings where progress and questions can be discussed. By the end of each month the team will also write a one page summary of the reported project actions, methods used, implemented software, and results.
