InnoSummer project 5/2011: Finding Memo

This project will look at creating a new interface and communication method on a tablet form factor with touch interface. Users are free to mix different media types in creating topics. The content could be a mixture of typed text, handwriting, images, video & audio.
Unstructured heterogeneous data is  converted to structured metadata using text and image analysis.

Project Goal

Design & implement a novel interface for sharing and browsing unstructured heterogeneous data on a Meego tablet.
A method to index the content and generate structure (using either built in tracker or own metadata system)
A method to generate location specific reminders for the tasks in messages

Competencies

2 - 6 persons. For example:
-Meego mobile software developer / architect: Qt C++/QML & web technologies
-Graphic/UI designer
-User experience specialist
-Project manager

Development tools, environments and standards

Also source code of  a prototype of web-server and Qt application for mobile note taking and sharing

Interaction between stakeholder and project team

The work will mainly be done at the Demola 'office' in Tampere, Finlayson. There will be regular meetings with the company partner (Nokia) and the team members. There will also be other forms of communication and guidance available to the team. The team will report the work by writing a team blog on the Demola web service.
