The Dream City

The dream city project is a concept developed in Tampere, Finland. It is inspired by the innovative history of the city as well as the latest changes of the world wide economy and the people lay of their jobs.
There is definite need to inspire the community and to create synergy between the region's development plans and peoples' future dreams.

The Aim of the project:

1. The goal is to inspire the community to create social and business activities by initiating an annual award called “The Dream City Award.”
Other goals are:
2. Promote Tampere and Finland on the international level and enhance the area’s international image
3. Increase tourism in Tampere by organizing the Dream city award
4. Motivate other cities for more innovation and creative business
5. Create a competition between the cities for more effective development in social and business live
6. Create an fast direct interactive channel between companies and unemployed, innovative and creative people.

We would like to establish a direct contact with Dream City Project and the City of Tampere in order to make sure that the project will be successful and Tampere will gain all the benefit form originating and hosting an international initiative for creativity.

Concept of the dream City award:
Tampere will initiate and host an annual awarding process called “The Dream City Award”. The goal is to create efforts around the world to encourage innovation and creativity in order  to enable the  people to express their dreams and to make them come true


What will happen now?
2011 is the first year of Dream City Project. It will launch the Dream City Award as an annual happening and media event. This summer a physical location “the Inspiration park” will be specially created for this even. The Inspiration park will host competitions for local businesses and firms in six categories: Body, Mind, Business, Passion, Environment, and Art.

Each participating company will have one day to develop, finalize and present a programme / project they have been inspired to do. All contestants will receive coverage via local TV and website. On the website people from Tampere and all over the world will be able to vote for the winner of each category.

We would like to show to the citizens of Tampere through videos and episodes that we have generated a real output starting from no resources and everyone is able to fulfill the same dream.

In order to share and to inspire with the community of Tampere, we created and are planning to organize indoor outdoor activities and online application, events competitions and finally awards.
