Project 109: New app for NFC (Near Field Communication)

Background
NFC is wireless short-range connectivity method. Products with built-in NFC will dramatically simplify the way consumer devices interact with one another, helping people speed connections, receive and share information and even make fast and secure payments. The technology is considered ready but still no killer applications are in sight?

Project Goal
Project Target is to innovate and design a killer application for the mobile phone that utilizes NFC. The study should include concept creation, use scenario research, and the "killer application" use cases along UI look and feel as well as interaction design. Working demo is expected.

Desired student skills, competencies, team size
Team should have multidisciplinary set of students, e.g.:

  • SW, UI and interaction design
  • consumer or user research
  • knowledge of business, finance or other related area
