Background
NFC is wireless short-range connectivity method. Products with built-in NFC will dramatically simplify the way consumer devices interact with one another, helping people speed connections, receive and share information and even make fast and secure payments. NFC has both “read and write cababilities and the communication between two NFC devices happens when they are brough within 4 cm from each other (www.nfc-forum.org). The technology is considered ready but still no killer applications are in sight?
Project Goal
Project Target is to innovate and design a killer application for the mobile phone that utilizes NFC. The study should include concept creation, use scenario research, and the "killer application" use cases along UI look and feel as well as interaction design. Working demo is expected.
Desired student skills, competencies, team size
Team should have multidisciplinary set of students, e.g.:
- SW, UI and interaction design
- consumer or user research
- knowledge of business, finance or other related area

NFG - Near Field Gaming!
Apparently quite a lot things has already been done with NFC. My favourite idea about translater was killed today when we had a meeting with Maini. We are still doing our best to get Social city to fly - but we have to come up with something extraordinary during next week. At this point I would cross my fingers for Near Field Gaming.
NFC - How we are going to use it?
Last week we had an amazing brainstorming and we are now ready with coming up with different cases. Our former idea about developing a virtual reality is already under development, so we had to give up with that. The same goes with marketing and that kind of "feet-on-ground" ideas. Now we have four different kind of ideas to work with.
Getting started
Slowly but steadily our project is getting started. Project plan was our first task and according to our timetable we should be finished with this project until the end of May when two of our teammembers are going back to Greece. So far we have had couple brainstorming sessions.
