Demola Mobile Challenge for Students

This Challenge is initiated by Demola and supported by Forum Nokia.

The Challenge is open to students attending TUT, UTA and TAMK. The Challenge aim to an avenue for students to showcase ideas and working models of their applications. The objective of the Challenge is to harness creativity and build the students' passion for innovation through Qt technology.

To enter, form a team of up to 6 people, create an appealing application that functions on a Nokia device, and submit it with the required documentation. Each team selects a name and nominates a Team Leader who represents the team in all communications with Organizers.

Teams are to create functional prototypes of their ideas. The judges look favourably on entries that innovate in areas such as in advanced device features or inspired mashups to mobiles.

Primary Success Criteria:

  • Usability - Ease of using the application
  • Technology - Ability to effectively apply different technologies
  • Commercial Value - Extensiveness to which the application is commercially viable to implement
  • Creativity - Originality, degree of technology innovation and innovativeness
  • Participation - Extent to which application fosters interactivity, sharing and social networks
  • Demonstration - Application must run on a Nokia device
  • Applications - must be submitted in English language

The Prizes

First winning team walks away with Nokia N8 devices and gets expenses paid trip to international ICT event in Europe.

Second and third runner-up teams will win Nokia N8 devices.

The Challenge closes on 31.01.2011 and eligible submissions must be received no later than 17:00 on the same day. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, ineligible or misdirected submissions.
