Project 104: Business Challenge - Innovator
Background:
Our aim with The Innovator is to nationalize the innovation thinking: How to make innovations feel real, concrete and fun for everybody?
Role models for this project are the big multivolume media products like Top Gear, which surprises the viewers each time, and Myth Busters. The Fun Theory is also a good example of how innovations can be made entertaining. The video “Fun Theory Piano Stairs”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lXh2n0aPyw
Now The Innovator is getting started as a television format with YLE and also in the internet as a community which will be executed in co-operation with Wrekamovie.com. In addition, BBC and a Japanese production company are interested in the television format.
TV Synopsis:
A television reality show format development
Factual entertainment / Family / Interactive content / Multiplatform
A new TV show designed to make your life better one problem at a time. We can prove that Innovations are inspiring, down to earth and make a great entertainment.
What happens if you put together a group of specialists - marketing manager, designer, engineering student, senior citizen and a house wife - and let them plan the ultimate retail store? Can they solve all the problems of shopping?
Or what if another type of a group gets to design a revolutionary public transportation system for the future?
The Innovator show, not only brigs out the common difficulties of our lives, but also creates fresh ideas and solutions on how to improve things - and execute them!
How about a TV show that encourages people to improve their every day life and inspires to think about innovations as keys to our problems?
We want to show in practice that great ideas inspire everyone and have a positive influence in our lives. As a team anyone can make a difference.
Aim for the Business Challenge:
Together with the Business Challenge-team we want to find out what the other ways to productize innovations are and what other business strategies could be related to these products.
What other products could be developed around this? What kind of markets are there for these products? What kind of business strategies could these products have? And how can we make use of The Innovator web community in all this?
The aim is to fortify the whole project of The Innovator.
The Innovator has kicked off as a Demola project and now it’s being productized by KLOK Creative Agency. Also the Foundation for Finnish Inventions subsidizes The Innovator.
The results from the Business Challenge-team will be presented in the biggest function for the content production – in MIPTV in April 2010.
